This Week in Kindergarten!
We had a very busy first week back at school. |
It was so busy that Mme Godin did not take many photos. |
The children were all so excited to see their friends again. |
And they were even more excited to discover at which table group they would be sitting for the next few months. |
On Monday, the children practiced printing the letter E. |
They also circled all of the upper-case and lower-case Ee's they could find. |
All of the students were well rested and ready to focus on work. |
Please remember to check your child's ziplock bag or an earlier post on my blog to see which day is your child's new Show and Tell day. |
Some of the new vocabulary that we will be learning this month. |
Mme Page, our school division's numeracy coach is with us for the next three weeks. |
She has been playing many new games with the boys and girls. |
The children enjoyed playing "Oh, non 11!" |
The goal of the game is to flip all of the cards before flipping over the four number 11's. |
We completed the colour "blanc" in our colour booklets. |
The boys and girls made a white cloud and copied the words "le nuage" (a cloud). |
They also printed the number 3. |
We have been reviewing how to draw a person and naming the body parts in French. |
Learning about tally marks (les marques de fréquence). |
And only one photo of play time. Lots of cooperation and team work going on here. |

This Week in Kindergarten!
On Monday, the boys and girls wore something white to school. |
They also made these very special snowmen. |
The top snowball was for the head and the other snowballs were for each letter in your child's name. Some snowmen were very tall and others very short. |
On Tuesday, we wore something green to school. |
This little girl even had a special green Christmas tree made with elastics in her hair. |
The children decorated green Christmas trees (les arbres de Noël verts). |
The afternoon class wearing green. |
The boys and girls were able to decorate their trees with buttons, feathers, stickers and jewels. |
On Wednesday, we all wore red to school. |
The afternoon class counting down the sleeps until Christmas during Calendar Time. |
The children made red Santas (les pères Noël rouges). |
We spent lots of time creating special crafts this week. We also did some Christmas themed activities on the SMARTboard. |
Putting the pictures in sequential order to show us the steps needed to make cookies. |
We also played Tic-tac-toe. The boys and girls are getting much better at using strategies to block their friends in order to win. |
A large Christmas tic-tac-toe. |
Smaller tic-tac-toe games. |

Throwing snowballs in the snowman's mouth or stomach. |

The children had to guess behind which ten-frame the Christmas ball was hidden. |
Taking turns mixing the reindeer food. |
Making Christmas cards. |
Who will win, "le pere Noel or Nez-Rouge?" |

Tic-tac-toe. |
Helping our friends. |
Trying to get all 5 jingle bells in the cups. |
The boys and girls were very busy and enjoyed all of the different activities. |
The afternoon class only discovered Lucie Lutin after recess. She was hiding in the bathroom with a small gift for all of the students. There are only 4 more sleeps until Christmas! |
