Early dismissal at 2:45 p.m.

Wednesday, September 21st:  Phys. Ed. for the afternoon class.

Thursday, September 22nd:  Music for the morning class.
School BBQ from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.

This Week in Kindergarten!

We finished our very first week of kindergarten!  And what a busy and fun week it was, learning new routines and meeting new friends.

We have been practicing the new words, garçon (boy) and fille (girl).  We play many games on the SMARTboard to reinforce new French vocabulary.

Practicing to hold our pencils correctly and printing our names.

The boys and girls decorated the first letters of their names with stickers, feathers, squares and stars.

We played a colour game, Mme Godin versus the boys and girls.

The children made a likeness of themselves.

These are all of the first letters of our names.

We went on a colour hunt in the classroom to find objects that are red (rouge).

I asked the students why I chose this little boy to hold the red card.  It took a few turns until we finally guessed correctly.  His shirt was "rouge".

First Day of Kindergarten!

Today was all about exploring our new kindergarten classroom!  The boys and girls had a great day!  I hope that all of the children came home with their outdoor shoes.  If not, I apologize as this is often very confusing for the children the first few weeks of school.  Have a great weekend!!!

WELCOME TO OUR CLASSROOM!!!

This is our school - École Assiniboine.

The boys and girls who take the school bus or come to school with Mom or Dad will line up behind the number 12 (our room number) on the playground.  We will also line up at this same spot after recess.  When the bell rings, Mme Godin will come get you and we will all walk to the classroom together.  The children from ASSINIBOINE CHILDREN'S CENTRE will walk to the classroom with the daycare staff at the start of the day.

The boys and girls may play on the small structure before school starts and at recess time.  Children coming to school with their parents should not arrive until 8:15 a.m. or 12:15 p.m. as there is no supervision for students until then.

This is the door to the classroom.  Mme Godin's class is room 12.

You will find your name on one of the cubbies.  This is where you will hang your jacket and your backpack.  You will also change your shoes.  

You will also find your name on one of the four round tables in the classroom.  This is where you will work and eat your snack.

You will each have a square to sit on at carpet time.  The carpet faces the SMARTboard.

We will do many group activities at the calendar.

This is our classroom tree.  You will get to see many changes to our tree during the four seasons and holidays.

We have a bathroom in our classroom.

We must always remember to flush the toilet, wash our hands and shut the lights when we are done.

There is also a water fountain.
