On Monday, we started our Hip-Hop classes with Monsieur Joseph. |
He told us that we were SUPER HEROES IN TRAINING. |
We have 4 super hero powers. |
Number 1 is laser focus - making quick eye contact with the teacher. |
Number 2 - Listening ears (we have the ability to change our ears into tall rabbit ears or large elephant ears in order to listen carefully to instructions). |
Number 3 - Copycat skills - copying exactly what Monsieur Joseph does. |
And number 4 - Statue (we jump, put our feet together, hands to our sides and we can hide in plain sight of everyone). |
This was a mindfulness activity (breathing in and out for four counts lasting 3 minutes). |
Copying Monsieur Joseph's moves. |
We also did some isolation activities, focusing on a different body part each time. |
Free style dance. |
More isolation activities. |
Playing the X and O elimination game. |
Our next two sessions will take place on Wednesday, November 13 and Friday the 15th. You may send a water bottle to school with your child on these days as we are working very hard. |
Last week we painted paper plates. This week we ripped small pieces of black construction paper to make beautiful poppies (les coquelicots). |
The morning class' poppies. |
The afternoon class' poppies. |
Using our Handwriting Without Tears materials in preparation to begin our letter printing booklet. |
We also used these materials to make a person and learned a new song so that we don't forget any body parts when drawing a person. |
Encouraging the students by reminding them that if we can draw lines and curves we can draw a person. |
The morning class hard at work drawing a person. |
And the afternoon class drawing a person. |
Our first "Spirit Day" was colour day. It was fun to see everyone wearing blue. |
The afternoon class all in blue wearing their poppies (les coquelicots). |
