This Week In Kindergarten!

This week's Discovery Bins included, pine cones and rocks.  The children were free to explore these materials as they wished.  Some children made patterns, others made shapes and some made faces.
Sorting Halloween erasers.
Building structures for Halloween characters.
More beautiful rock and pine cone creations
The boys and girls continued to build with craft sticks and clothespins.  They made houses and incorporated some Halloween manipulatives to their creations.
Sifting through the sand to find hidden Halloween jewels and pumpkins.
Halloween lacing cards.
Halloween puzzles.
Putting the correct amount of Halloween erasers in the jack'o'lanterns.
What a beautiful house made from craft sticks and clothespins.
Hard at work in our colour booklets.
Le soleil est jaune (the sun is yellow).
One of the resources that we use from the Handwriting Without Tears program are these special magna doodles.
The children are using wooden magnetic pieces to make the letter L.  We repeat the following "grande ligne" (big line), "petite ligne" (small line) when forming letters.
The boys and girls also had to circle upper-case and lower-case Ll's on the SMARTboard.
Printing the letter L in our letter booklets.
Placing the numbers 0 to 10 in order.
The boys and girls drew trees (les arbres) and had to rip small pieces of construction paper to make colourful leaves (les feuilles).
Lloyd made his name out of craft sticks.  Our names begin with a capital letter followed by lower-case letters.
A student from the afternoon class made a haunted house (la maison hantee) with a bat (la chauve-souris), a moon (la lune) and a pumpkin (la citrouille).
