The children are hard at work Monday decorating the Valentine envelopes that they designed last week. |
There were lots of hearts, ribbon, jewels, stickers and doilies at each table. |
The morning class' envelopes. |
The afternoon class' envelopes. |
We started to learn about the voyageur at the beginning of February. The children are enjoying the adventures of Paul et Suzanne and learning about le Festival du Voyageur. |
We practiced naming the voyageur clothing. |
We also played a game on the SMARTboard called "Où est le castor?" Where is the Beaver? Together we name an object on the board and try to find the beaver. |
We ended off the week exploring Valentine centres. |
We played lower-case Valentine bingo. |
The boys and girls also played with linking hearts. |
Who will be the first to fill their heart shaped ice cube tray. |
Valentine tic-tac-toe. Les coeurs (hearts) et les fleurs (flowers). The boys and girls were quick to tell me that coeur and fleur were rhyming words. |
Learning new strategies to try blocking our opponent. |
The afternoon class enjoying Valentine puzzles. |
Patiently waiting for our next turn. |
The children added the correct amount of heart links to the numbered cards. Some of the students also made pattern necklaces. |
We also found a few minutes to play a guessing game asking the question "Qui a le coeur?" (Who has the heart?). Happy Valentine's Day! Joyeuse St. Valentin! |
