This Week In Kindergarten!

The boys and girls practiced naming the colours in French.  They had to name the colour and click on the circle to see if there was a black cat hiding behind it.  "Où est le chat noir?" Where is the black cat?
We practiced naming our new Halloween words.  Together we repeated "Toc, toc, toc! Qui est à la porte?"  Knock, knock, knock! Who is at the door?
Once the child knocked on the door a Halloween image appeared.
During this activity, Mme Godin would name the Halloween image and the children had to come click on it to watch it spin.
Last week we mixed yellow and red paint on a white paper.  We discovered a new colour - orange.  On Monday, the boys and girls transformed their orange blobs of paint into jack'o'lanterns (les feux-follets).

Playing a Halloween memory game.

We used this special Halloween timer to see who would get snack first, second, third, fourth, line up first, etc.   The children cheered when their character won the race!

This week the boys and girls were identifying groups of objects that are more than (plus que).  We took turns rolling a die and putting leaves on our trees.  Then we had to decide which tree had more leaves.

We also discussed Remembrance Day (le jour du souvenir) and peace!

On Thursday the boys and girls practiced printing the number 0.

The children completed the colour green (vert) in their colour booklets.  Le gazon est vert. (The grass is green).

On Friday, the boys and girls painted paper plates red.  We will let them dry over the weekend and make special poppies (les coquelicots) next week.
