La course Terry Fox!

Once again, École Assiniboine will be supporting the Terry Fox Foundation by walking/running on Thursday, September 27th (rain date will be on the 28th).  This event will take place at 2:00 p.m. at the back of the school.  The morning kindergarten students will be running/walking in the morning during their Phys. Ed. class.

Please help us to make a difference by sending a donation of a loonie or a toonie with your child by the run date.

Take some time to talk about our Canadian hero, Terry Fox and why we have a special run in memory of him every year.

This Week in Kindergarten!

We had another fun week in kindergarten!  The children are adjusting well to the new school routines. We play a lot of large group games to practice new French vocabulary.  This game is called "OH!OH!".  The object of the game is to pull all of the coloured popsicle sticks out of the container before we pull out the "Oh! Oh!" stick.  If we pull the "Oh! Oh!" stick, we have to put all of the other sticks back in the container and start again.

We practiced printing our names and colouring circles (les cercles).  The boys and girls raise their hands to let me know they are done their work.

The children are also practicing to hold their pencils correctly.

Please remember to send a spoon or a fork if your child needs one to eat his/her snack.  CHECK ALL LABELS AS WE HAVE CHILDREN IN THE CLASS WITH SEVERE ALLERGIES TO PEANUTS, TREE NUTS AND PROCESSED MEATS!  

I remind the children daily, that we do not share snacks as other children have allergies as well as intolerances to wheat, dairy and eggs.
