This Week in Kindergarten!
Extending winter patterns. |
Completing the colour "noir" in our colour booklets. The children made black spiders (l'araignée noire). |
Placing the snow people in order from the smallest to the biggest. |

This is Mademoiselle Poubelle. She loves letters! Today she wanted to eat objects that started with the letter B. The boys and girls were very excited to feed her! |
All students will get to dance with Monsieur Ty three times as part of the Integrated Arts program. |
We are learning dances from the 1930"s. The boys and girls are practicing the steps to dance the conga. |
Once we mastered the steps we made a conga line. |
The children were also introduced to some samba dancing. It was a very short but fun and busy week!!! |

Important Dates!
This Week in Kindergarten!
This week we practiced printing the number 4. |
And the letter H. In French, the letter H does not make a sound. |
Playing a winter themed Bingo game. |
We are learning all about tally marks (les marques de fréquence). |
On Wednesday, we made pink flowers just by folding a square paper into a triangle and then bringing the two sides up. |
Representing numbers on a ten frame and with tally marks. |
Playing a game with these super big cards. |
On Friday we played the same card game with a partner. |
The person who flipped over the biggest card put the 2 cards in his/her pile. |
Circling the core (le motif) of a pattern. |
Practicing to print the number that comes after (après) a given number. |
And once again, lots of play time. |
These children were playing a balancing pizza game. |
This group of boys referred to this creation as "Dinosaur Mountain". |
And the children continue to enjoy playing at the Pizza Restaurant center. |

Important Dates!
This Week in Kindergarten!
We started off the week counting snowflakes and printing the correct number. |

Practicing our new winter vocabulary with this fun memory game. |
The afternoon class watched the crane lower the hand rails on to the new stairs at the front of the school. |
First time back with our "Play Buddies" in the new year. |
There were lots of pizzas being ordered. |
The boys and girls are enjoying the addition of Lego people at the Lego table. |
The afternoon class with their grade five buddies. |
Learning how to make paper airplanes and party hats was lots of fun. |
The boys and girls really look forward to day 6! |

This Week in Kindergarten!
All of the students were eager to wish their classmates a Happy New Year (Bonne Année!). We started off the week playing a new alphabet game. |
Practicing to form the letter F in the mini sandbox as well as on the magna doodle. |
Printing the letter F in our letter booklet. |
Learning a new poem about the colour purple (violet). |
Les raisins sont violets (the grapes are purple). |
Circling the core of the pattern (le motif). |

Practicing to print that tricky number 2. |
And lots of play time. |
It was so much fun to talk and play with all of our friends. |
The children have been building really long train tracks this week. |

Creating a marble run with a friend. |
Imaginative play at the doll house. |
All in all, the children transitioned back to school easily, happily and ready to learn! |
