This Week in Kindergarten!

Hard at work on Monday morning, printing the letter E.

The boys and girls also circled the upper-case and lower-case Ee's.

Practicing our new colour poem "Violet".

The boys and girls completed the colour violet in their colour booklets.

The children made purple grapes "les raisins violets".

Making snowmen to decorate the hallways for our Winter Concert.

This little girl made 3 snowmen (les bonshommes de neige) - petit, moyen et grand.

The dolls in the kitchen area have enjoyed lots of birthday cake this week.

The children have added Lego people to their Lego creations.

Playing on the light cube.

Clean up time.  We have to count and make sure that there are 22 Lego people to put in the container when we are done playing.

Magnet puzzles with a friend.

More birthdays for the afternoon class.

The boys and girls love to draw, decorate, cut and tape together beautiful pieces of art.

Friends playing together.

The morning class' snowmen.

The afternoon class' snowmen.

Richelle Scott (indigenous teacher) from our school division came to teach us about The Seven Teachings.  We learned all about love on Thursday.  The eagle represents love.

Richelle sang to us in her native language.  She has a beautiful voice.

On Friday, we started the countdown to Christmas!

The boys and girls also found this special little elf hanging on the SMARTboard.  She left us a note introducing herself as Lucie Lutin (Lucy the elf).  She is Santa's friend and she will come visit us every day to see if we are listening to Mme Godin, working hard and playing nicely with our friends.  Lucie also told us there are only 24 more sleeps until Christmas.

One of the students from the morning class, explained to the class all about our elf.  It seems that we are not allowed to touch her or she will lose her magic and that she sometimes moves at night when we are sleeping.  (Thanks for sharing, Ada!) We will just have to wait until Monday to see if this is true!

This group of children wanted to show Mme Godin their beautiful Play-doh creations.

This little boy wrote me a story using pictures.  We will show it to our library teacher next week.

As you can see it was another very busy weekend in kindergarten!
