This Week in Kindergarten!
| Practicing to hold a pencil correctly and tracing short lines. |
| The afternoon class hard at work. |
| Sorting the shapes according to circles (les cercles) and squares (les carrés). |
| Colouring all of the circles on the paper. |
| Reminding the children to hold the crayon (le crayon de cire) just like their pencil (le crayon). |
| Playing colour bingo on the SMARTboard. |
| Working in our colour booklets. |
| There were many steps to follow and the boys and girls all did a great job! |
| We will learn a new poem for each colour and complete a craft to further develop fine motor skills as well as to reinforce the new vocabulary. |
| Singing our Terry Fox song: "La persévérance" by Gregg LeRock before starting our run this morning. |
| And of course so much learning, exploring, discovering, creating, cooperating and sharing during that all important PLAY TIME! |
| Making a pot of soup in the house area. |

| Building so many marble runs. |
| Setting the table with friends. And just like that another week is over! |

Important Dates!
This Week in Kindergarten!
| We all survived our very first week of kindergarten! What a fun and busy week it was. The children are practicing to find the correct group of friends to sit with at carpet time. |
| We practiced getting to know our friends' names. |
| The morning class printing their names and drawing their faces. |
| The afternoon class hard at work. |
| Learning about circles (les cercles). |
| Finding objects in the class that are red "rouge". |
| Decorating the first letters of our names. |
| Practicing the new word "le cercle" (circle). |

| Decorating the first letter of our names with stickers, feathers, jewels and more. |
| This week we continued to explore the many games, centres and toys in the classroom. |
| We learned to share materials with others. |
| Some of the children created art projects for their families. |
| Others were busy building. |
| And some of our friends were baking beautiful Play-doh cookies. |
| This group of students built an extremely high magna tile castle. |
| Playing a freeze dance game with the afternoon class. When the music stopped, the children were frozen and repeated the words "le cercle" (circle). |
