This Week in KIndergarten!

We started off the week printing the letter Z.

We also finished our spring booklet.

Mme Godin has been busy assessing literacy and numeracy skills.  The children have to identify punctuation, show me a word, an upper-case letter, a lower-case letter, the first letter of a word, the last letter of a word, point to the words as I am reading the book, etc.

Demonstrating their knowledge of rhyming words.  I would name the two pictures on the cards and the boys and girls showed me a thumbs up if the words rhymed and a thumbs down if they did not rhyme.

They also had to make the sounds of specific letters.

We are learning about farm animals.  The boys and girls were singing the Farmer in the Dell (Le fermier dans le pré).
Taking turns playing Tic-tac-toc.

Creating at the art table.

Playing with the dominoes.

Trains, trucks, magna tiles.  Everyone playing together.

Adding insects.

The morning students waiting for M. Charrette's class to join us on Thursday morning's Sticker Run!

And off they go!

The boys and girls were very excited to run around the track with their friends from room 16.

And the afternoon class did the Colour Run with the rest of the school in the afternoon.  Thank you so much to all the families who donated money for our school's fundraiser.

This Week in Kindergarten!

We started off the week working in our spring booklets.

The boys and girls continue to learn about belonging to different groups, such as our families, our school and our community.

Some more spring time dancing.

We have started to learn about farm animals.  The boys and girls had to figure out which animals to place if the farmer saw 2 legs, 8 legs, 12 legs, etc.  We discovered that there were different ways of finding the correct answer.

We have started to watch a series of 5 minute videos, relating to the farm.
A tracing sample for our portfolios.

Cutting carefully along the lines.

Mme Godin read a story about 5 little friends called "Où est Cléo?"

We also watched a short video of the same story to find similarities and differences.

Drawing a person for our portfolios.

We spent some time outdoors today so that Mme Godin could take photos of each student for their portfolio.  Le groupe 4.
